Coyote Receives ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Coyote, a UPS company, is proud to announce that it has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, an internationally recognized quality management standard. An ISO 9001 certificate proves that Coyote’s quality management system has been certified against a best practice standard and found compliant. Coyote was awarded its recertification from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Business Assurance, a leading global provider of accredited management systems certification.

“Coyote has an unwavering commitment to service by having the best people and technology in the industry,” said Coyote ISO Project Manager Brian Yelle. “This certification is a testament to the commitment of quality among our employees and management team. Maintaining an effective quality management system throughout the company is a critical step in providing the attention and support our customers have come to expect from Coyote.”

In 2011 Coyote implemented an ISO-compliant quality management system that established a systematic approach to managing Coyote’s 3PL operations, and now, in 2017, that quality management system has been recertified as compliant with the updated ISO 9001:2015 standards.

DNV Business Assurance performed a process assessment which focused on Coyote’s proprietary Collaborative Transportation Management software; customer sales and operations; carrier management and fleet solutions, recruitment and training; IT support and system access; load management and software development, 24/7 support; carrier compliance; issue resolution; accounting and claims; pricing and quoting; and documentation and records management.

“This recertification demonstrates our commitment to continuously improve Coyote’s quality systems to ensure the highest level of customer service,” says Coyote Chief Operating Officer Jim Sharman. “This is part of our comprehensive strategy to ensure quality and our recertification of ISO has once again validated that our processes are effective.”

About ISO

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), www.iso.org, based in Geneva, Switzerland, develops and publishes internationally recognized standards. ISO 9001 is a quality management system that documents business operations and supports continuous improvement. International standards give world-class specifications for products, services, and systems to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. ISO 9001 is the most widely used quality management standard, and has recently undergone a periodic update to better reflect modern business challenges. Last modified in 2008, the new 2015 version of ISO 9001 is the result of input from business and technical experts around the world. The program requires greater involvement of senior management, broader understanding of supply chains, and more focus on stakeholder (not just customer) expectations.
